Russell Black Building is led by Russell Black, a trusted Timaru builder with a long and proud local history in South Canterbury. Born and bred in Timaru, Russell comes from a family of builders and completed his apprenticeship working alongside his father, who owned the Timaru building company Black & Feeley Limited.
After qualifying, Russell broadened his skills in Wellington, gaining hands-on experience on high rise buildings. This experience has given him strong technical expertise across both residential and light commercial construction, from family homes through to smaller commercial projects.
As a Licensed Building Practitioner and Registered Master Builder, Russell offers his clients the assurance of professional standards, backed by over 30 years of building experience.
Russell is also a farmer, owning a 550-acre beef and cattle farm at Mangati, west of Timaru. This rural background gives him a practical understanding of the needs of his many rural and South Canterbury clients, and helps him design and build homes and structures that truly suit local lifestyles and conditions.
